Joan Mir shot back to the top of the timesheets in a tricky session which saw most riders elect to sit out of the first ten to fifteen minutes. After the lunch break in Aragon, the rain began spotting but stopped before FP2 got underway. Towards the end of the session the track began to dry and the fast laps came pouring in, but Championship leader Mir remained untouched at the top, from Aron Canet who was quickest this morning in FP1 and Enea Bastianini.

Ayumu Sasaki made a last ditch attempt to get into the top ten which most certainly paid off, as he shot from what felt like nowhere into fourth. Niccolo Antonelli continued his solid form from FP1 to finish the session in fifth, with Jorge Martin, Marco Bezzechi, Romano Fenati, Lorenzo Dalla Porta and John McPhee rounding out the top ten.
