Formula 1's top three teams are now in agreement when it comes to Liberty Media's plan of introducing a budget cap in 2021, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko claims.
Last week, a report emerged in Germany's Auto Motor und Sport suggesting the sport's owners had taken a more hardline approach with the top teams over one of the pillars in their vision for F1 in just two years time.
Fearing the slow pace of talks may be a tactic to run down the clock, CEO Chase Carey is claimed to have lowered the cap to $135m from an initial figure of $150m to be implemented over a three-year period and told the leading outfits to either accept or leave.

Arguing, however, that such a rapid reduction in spending would not be possible with their current operating structures, Marko says the top three teams are now aligned in their own position with a number of areas still up for discussion.
"Basically, we agree with Ferrari and Mercedes in terms of numbers, but the other teams are still very critical," the Austrian told Auto Bild.
"We also need to discuss which departments of the racing team fall under the budget limit. Nothing is clear.
"Controlling it is very difficult to accomplish. How do you know which computer is working for the car company and which is working for Formula 1?"
As a result: "We are still a long way from an agreement," the Red Bull advisor concluded.
