Daniel Ricciardo has again reiterated his confidence in Renault to show progress before the end of this season.

Earlier this week, his team boss Cyril Abiteboul insisted the Australian knew it would require patience to achieve the results he hopes for at the Enstone-based team and remained confident the end goal remained attainable.

However, it has been undeniable that with just two top 10s to his name in six races and a struggle just to lead the midfield, Renault and Ricciardo have work to do.

“In terms of results I’m not exactly where I’d like to be, but the atmosphere and the energy in the team are excellent. I just have to learn to be patient,” he told French publication L’Equipe.

“F1 is a complex science that takes time. I have a contract until 2020, the results are a little disappointing at the moment but we are still in the building phase.

"I’m confident that the results will start coming before the end of the season. You can write that down.”
