Formula 1 has agreed to cancel all track activities on Saturday due to the impact of Typhoon Hagibis.

The major storm is expected to arrive at Suzuka on Friday night bringing with it strong winds and heavy rain throughout tomorrow, meaning the safety of everyone present at the circuit could not be guaranteed.

As a result, third practice will now not take place and qualifying has been rescheduled for 10am (2amBST) on Sunday morning, with the race time unchanged at 2:10pm (6:10amBST)

This is the third time in 15 years that F1 has had to move qualifying due to a typhoon, previously doing so in 2004 and 2010.

Thankfully the weather is forecast to improve dramatically with sunny skies on Sunday, meaning the only risk of further disruption comes from any lasting effects of Saturday's storm.
