Jorge Lorenzo was on the podium last time MotoGP raced on Spanish soil, and the five-time World Champion also impressed on Friday at the Catalan GP.

Ending the day in second on combined timesheets after a dry FP2, Lorenzo also showed good pace in a wet FP1 and is ready to rumble at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

The Mallorcan was also the fastest Ducati in the recent test at the venue and thinks that has made a positive difference, but also that there remains plenty of margin to find - and that those who didn't test are sure to close in on Saturday.

"It’s not bad. It’s not bad the position, especially with the tyres; quite fast with the soft one, but also quite fast with the hard one." Said the Spartan

"There are still some corners where I am missing a lot and compared to the test, the bike is moving more than I want it to, but we are going to try something tomorrow to improve this, and to gain more stability." He added

"I’m sure this test helped. It’s not negative, it’s for sure positive and we have a little bit of an advantage compared to those who didn’t test, but I am sure they are going to be there tomorrow, so we need to stay there at the front."
