Max Verstappen has revealed he asked Red Bull if he could test a MotoGP bike around a circuit only to be met with a sharp no by his bosses.

The Dutchman has recently earned his motorbike licence for the road but wants to test his skills on a racetrack, much like Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa did in an F1 car earlier this year.

“I have asked the team if I can try a MotoGP bike,” he told Holland's De Telegraaf.

“Red Bull is also a sponsor in MotoGP with Honda and KTM. I’d love to try one on a circuit, such as the Red Bull Ring.

“But no chance. They absolutely said no. It is not allowed, they think it’s too dangerous. So that’s it.”

The only bike Red Bull would let Max ride...

While there was speculation over whether Marquez could ever make the transition from two-to-four wheels, now, at just 21, questions will start on whether Max could head in the opposite direction in the future.
