George Russell admits Williams will remain in their current predicament for some time yet at the back of the grid.
The British team has been comfortably the slowest car on track all year although, in recent races, last year's Formula 2 champion was able to finish ahead of some midfield cars on pure pace.
Last weekend's race at Paul Ricard saw a return to the personal battle between Russell and teammate Robert Kubica however, but despite that, the Mercedes junior praised the atmosphere within Williams.
"Everyone is positive, which is really impressive to see how motivated everyone is considering the difficult times," he told Crash.net.
"We're going to be in this position for a number of races to come, and only after 5-6 races we'll be able to make a bit of progress that is noticeable to you guys really, and even then we're still going to be at the back."

Immediately ahead of Russell is a trip to Spielberg for the Austrian Grand Prix this weekend, and the 20-year-old is looking forward to returning to the Red Bull Ring.
"I am looking forward to the Austrian Grand Prix," he said. "It is a track I put it on pole and won, both in GP3 and FIA Formula 2.
"I have good memories which will give me greater confidence ahead of the weekend.
"I expect it to be a tough time again for us, but I am going to go out there and focus on getting the most out of the package," Russell concluded.
