Max Verstappen has had another dig at Lewis Hamilton suggesting most of his achievements came through beating weaker teammates.

Prior to the summer break, there was a small war of words between the pair as the five-time champion claimed he would welcome the chance to beat the Dutchman at the same team.

This after Verstappen made similar arguments to now that Hamilton hasn't had to work too hard for his success.

“Over the years, Lewis hasn’t had the strongest teammates,” the Red Bull driver told The Telegraph.

“If you have the right car you can beat everyone.

“Lewis is an amazing driver and one of the best to have raced in Formula 1, but he has also had the best car, and when you have the dominant car, the only one you are really fighting is your teammate.”

Interestingly though, at a time when Verstappen is linked to a possible Mercedes move for 2021, he appeared to back down from the chance of going one-on-one with Hamilton.

“If it happens, it happens, but it is not something I am dreaming of," he concluded.
