HWA RACELAB condirmed Jake Hughes as thhe third and final driver for their 2019 Formula 3 line-up.

Over the last three years, Jake Hughes was in action in the predecessor series of the FIA Formula 3 Championship and stood at the top of the podium at least once each season.

In 2016 he won two races in the GP3 series for DAMS, in 2017 he finished first at the Nürburgring as driver of the HitechGP team in the Formula 3 European Championship, and last year he was fastest in the ART Grand Prix car at the GP3 race in Spielberg.

Hughes joins Keyvan Andres and Bent Viscaal to complete the team’s 2019 line-up.

Jake Hughes said: “HWA has such a long-standing experience in motorsport, I’m delighted to be part of the family now.

It’s an exciting phase in the history of the company and I get to help write a new chapter. I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.

Together we will take on Formula 3 and compete against the absolute top teams in single-seater racing. I can’t wait for the season to get started and to battle for wins.”

“It’s a stroke of luck for us that we were able to get Jake Hughes on board as a driver.” Commented Team Principal HWA RACELAB Thomas Strick

“He has already proven his strength at this level on multiple occasions. No doubt he will help us find our feet quickly in this new series.”

“This completes our team for the 2019 season. We were able to find the perfect mix of different race driver personalities that will complement each other well.” Concluded Strick
