Formula E CEO Alejandro Agag admits he would not want to see a single team dominate the series, as is the case in Formula 1.
Ironically, the all-electric category is set for the arrival of Mercedes in Season 6, the company that has swept the past five Drivers’ and Constructors’ titles in F1.
And they will join after a championship which saw eight different winners in the first eight races and with close, combative action on the track that F1 could only dream of.
“It’s all very tight and the truth is that it is very good, but it is a little too much how open it is, although I love it,” Agag told Spanish outlet AS.
“But the opposite problem, which is what Formula 1 has now, I would not want that. Six races and six victories of Mercedes, five with one-twos.”

Part of the reason for Formula E’s unpredictability was the overhaul in regulations with the Gen 2 cars which complete a full race and other elements designed to spice up the racing.
“I believe that innovation is fundamental, you always have to innovate,” Agag explained. “The ‘attack mode’ that we have incorporated this year has gone very well and that will continue a lot.
“We will see what else we will do… I really like to play with lighting in the chassis of cars, we will see if we can do something more in that aspect apart from what is already in the Halo.
“We are always thinking about things to change the product all the time because people are now bored very fast.”
