The third and final practice session for the 4 Hours of Silverstone took place this morning with the no8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050 Hybrid ahead of the rest of the 31 car field, with the no51 AF Corse Ferrari leading in the LMGTE Pro category.
The no8 Toyota finished the 60-minute session on a 1m37.014 lap, with Kazuki Nakajima’s time being 0.398s ahead of the no3 Rebellion Racing R13 and 0.936s ahead of the no1 R13. The no7 Toyota was 4thquickest on a 1m37.981 lap.
The no51 Ferrari of 2017 FIA World Endurance GT Drivers’ Champions James Calado and Alessandro Pier Guidi was the fastest in LMGTE, with Calado setting a 1m54.467, less than a tenth of a second ahead of the no91 Porsche 911 RSR-19 of Richard Lietz and Gianmaria Bruni. Reigning champions Kevin Estre and Michael Christensen were third with a 1m54.955.
The no22 United Autosports Oreca continued to lead the way in LMP2 withPhil Hanson posting a 1m41.271, the fastest LMP2 lap of the weekend so far. The British driver was seven tenths ahead of the no29 Racing Team Nederlands Oreca and 0.8 seconds ahead of the the no37 Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca.
In the final session the no83 AF Corse Ferrari went quickest in the LMGTE Am class, with Nicklas Nielsen posting a 1m54.662 lap, going nearly two second faster than yesterday’s best lap time. The no56 Team Project 1 Porsche was second fastest on 1m56.135 and the no54 AF Corse 488 GTE was third with 1m56.187.
Qualifying for the 4 Hours of Silverstone is scheduled to begin at 11h50.
