Caldwell (Prema Powerteam) gains the first position at the very beginning of the race, while his teammate Enzo Fittipaldi faces some starting problems and goes back in sixth position.
Behind Guzman (DR Formula RP Motorsport), Schumacher (US Racing), Fraga (DR Formula RP Motorsport) and the two teammates Vesti and Caldwell.
The two drivers leave the group behind and engage a long duel, the English is pretty good in blocking every possible overtaking attempt, but Vesti keeps gaining tenths and sets the best lap of the race (1’40.202).
With 14 minutes left to the end, Frederik Vesti does a magistral manoeuvre: attempts an external overtake at Rivazza double turn and when he is close just by Caldwell, he suddenly switches on the other side and gains first position with a spectacular overtake on the inside.
The Brazilian Igor Fraga keeps third position until the end, behind him Guzman and Schumacher. In the middle group, Fittipaldi fights, but loses another position and closes the race seventh, behind Matteo Nannini (Corbetta Racing Srl).
Good performance by the German Sophia Floersch (Van Amersfoort Racing), who maintains the position in the group and ends in eighth position.
