Racing Point confirm February 17 launch of 2020 challenger

Racing Point has become the sixth team to announce launch plans for their 2020 car.

The RP20 will be unveiled at the Austrian headquarters of main sponsor BWT on February 17, two days before the start of pre-season testing in Barcelona.

This year marks the second full season under the ownership of Lawrence Stroll but is arguably set to be first representative year in terms of performance.

That’s because the development of the new car has been unhindered, unlike the 2019 machine which had a difficult birth in the fallout of the takeover from Force India owner Vijay Mallya.

Sergio Perez continues at the Silverstone-based squad for the seventh straight season alongside Lance Stroll, who enters his second in pink.

Already, the team has set a lofty target of finishing ‘best of the rest’ in the midfield, a position they achieved under their former guise in 2016 and 2017.
