Nick Cassidy ended the only Rookie in-season test fastest by setting a new lap record around the Marrakesh circuit.
Driving one of Envision Virgin Racing’s, the Kiwi posted a best time of 1:16.467 to go clear by 0.463 seconds at the top of the timesheets in the afternoon session.
The day was split into the usual two sessions of three hours, with all 12 Formula E teams fielding two rookie drivers who have never officially competed in the championship.
Cassidy’s time was followed by GEOX Dragon’s Sergio Sette Camara, the second quickest driver of the day, ahead of DS Techeetah’s testers Filipe Albuquerque and Nico Lapierre.
Lapierre was called in as a last-minute replacement for the team’s test and development driver James Rossiter, who was unable to run in the rookie test after taking over Jean-Eric Vergne’s car in Free Practice 1 on Friday.
All four drivers were faster than the quickest time set on Friday and Saturday, Antonio Felix da Costa’s Super Pole lap of 1:17.158.
Kyle Kirkwood ended the day fifth fastest for BMW, with Norman Nato in sixth for Venturi. Jake Hughes was seventh for Mercedes, with Lucas Auer in eighth for BMW.
Kelvin Van Der Linde was ninth fastest for Audi. The South African was the fastest man in the morning session. Sacha Fenestraz rounded out the top ten.
