Oliver Rowland ended a curtailed FP1 session fastest after James Calado brought out the red flag with 10 minutes remaining, but the session was not restarted.

Calado was suffering from software issues and the Jaguar team decided to do a full power-unit change during the session to try and resolve the issue.

The British driver left the garage with ten minutes to go but stopped out on the circuit, which brought out the red flag which ended the session early.

Therefore, Rowland’s 1.07.832 was enough to end the session fastest on the reverse layout of the Berlin E-Prix track.

All of the front running times were set using Attack Mode, which allowed drivers to run at 235kW. No lap times were set in full power mode which the drivers will use in qualifying of 250kW.

Sam Bird ended the session second quickest for Virgin Racing setting a 1.08.068, two tenths behind Rowland. Reigning champion  Jean-Eric Vergne ended the session third fastest with a lap time three tenths slower than Rowlands.

Nico Muller in the Dragon ended the session in fourth with Mahindra’s Jerome D’Ambrosio in fifth. Alexander Sims was the leading BMW driver in sixth with Edoardo Mortara in seventh for Venturi.

Nyck De Vries was eighth for Mercedes and Robin Frijns ended the session ninth in the second Virgin Racing car. Rowland’s teammate Sebastien Buemi ended the practice session in tenth.

Championship leader Antonio Felix Da Costa was just outside the top ten in 11th.

Alexander Lynn finished 12th in his first run in the Mahindra, with fellow rookies Rene Rast, and Sergio Sette Camara ending their first session in 17th and 23rd.
