Suggestions that Sebastian Vettel will sign a 2021 contract with Aston Martin in Belgium are not true, German TV channel RTL says.
Last week, reports in Italian media claimed the four-time world champion, who is leaving Ferrari at the end of this year, had been offered a $15m deal by the current Racing Point outfit to replace Sergio Perez.
In response, it was then claimed the Mexican’s sponsors, linked to billionaire Carlos Slim, were trying to counter by offering more money to keep Perez on board.
Well, according to RTL reporter Felix Goerner, at least the first part of that equation is inaccurate as no contract will be on the table for Vettel at Spa-Francorchamps.

Ever since Ferrari announced they would part ways with Sebastian back in May, the 33-year-old has insisted he is no rush to decide his future, though has said his only desire is that he remains in control of his 2021 plans.
A move to the rebranded Aston team still seems more likely though if that is what owner Lawrence Stroll wants.
If not, however, Vettel has got an offer to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours next year from Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, who will be part of the new Hypercar category.
“Ferrari seems to be carrying on that tradition of treating drivers poorly and I don’t think that’s a very pleasant thing at all,” Jim Glickenhaus, who has strong ties to Maranello, was quoted by PlanetF1.
“If ever Sebastian wants to come and drive for us at Le Mans, we have a seat for him!
“Formula 1 doesn’t interest me that much, really. The start’s okay, the finish is alright, but the part in the middle is just a procession,” he added.
“It also doesn’t sit very well with me when you see people living it up in their champagne bubbles at an F1 race which is held in some bizarre dictatorship of a country.
“From what I know about Sebastian though, he’s a bit of an old-time guy and I like that.
“Back in the day, you’d have people like Mario Andretti, Mark Donahue, Graham Hill, and more recently, Fernando Alonso who’d race in F1, the Indy 500, and sports cars all in the same year – so yeah, if Sebastian wants to try his hand at this and race for me, I’d be more than happy to have him.
“I just can’t afford to pay him as much as Ferrari.”
