Fernando Alonso says there will be more to his 2019 schedule than just the WEC and a second Indianapolis 500 attempt.

The Spaniard is retiring from Formula 1 after next weekend’s finale in Abu Dhabi and immediately after that he will take part in a car swap event with NASCAR’s Jimmie Johnson in Bahrain.

But in terms of racing next year, only four races have currently been confirmed, although extra commitments are greater.

“Apart from the three WEC races, I think there are [also] four tests,” he told Motorsport.com

“If you add the three race weekends, there are already seven, until June, plus Indycar tests and the two weeks of the Indy 500.

“If you see the calendar until June, there are only two or three weekends, even though it seems that there are not too many races, there are many preparations for these.

    “I’m looking forward to it.”

After June, however, the 37-year-old’s schedule isn’t so busy so he hinted…

“I will do many more, you will know step by step. [Indy 500] is the first announcement,” he claimed.
