An angry Kimi Raikkonen says a lack of tyres left him “f**ked” after the red flag in the Italian Grand Prix.

The Finn ran as high as third at one stage after pitting before the Safety Car and red flag which turned the Monza race on its head.

But after the restart, Raikkonen would only go backwards down the field, ultimately dropping out of the points.

“I wouldn’t tell that we were right up there when we finish P13,” he told Lawrence Barretto post-race when asked how it was to be near the front.

“I think the car as OK in the first part of the race and also after the pit-stop, but then the problem was we had no new tyres apart from the soft so we were f**ked from that point.

“I think we could have done a good race, had we had some other tyres than the soft left but yeah.”

P13 means Raikkonen remains pointless for the 2020 season after eight races, and his demeanour was of a driver clearly frustrated by the situation at Alfa Romeo.

“I don’t know what positives from that result,” he concluded shruggingly.
