As the calendar ticked into 2021, the Silverstone-based outfit offered a glimpse at their new look by rebranding all their social media channels with the Aston logo emblazoned on British Racing Green.
Also, the team also released a statement, with team boss Otmar Szafnauer voicing confidence in meeting the expectations that representing a company like Aston Martin brings.

“Representing such an iconic brand is a huge privilege for every member of the team. We’ve earned a well-deserved reputation for punching above our weight, so we’re confident we can do the Aston Martin name proud right from the get-go.
“It’s the start of a new journey and I can sense extra energy in the team, with a determination to push performance further than ever before.
“Combined with some of the most creative minds in the business, a true racers’ mentality and the can-do spirit that has served us so well through the years, we have every reason to be excited about the future.”
Aston enter 2021 looking to build on their strong performance from last year, with four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel joining Lance Stroll.
However, Szafnauer admits the big decision to be made going forward relates to the upcoming rule changes in 2022.
“It is more of a consideration of how and when you deploy your resources for the ’22 car versus the ’21 car,” he said via GPFans.
“You want a really good season in ’21 but not at the expense of ’22. We can start working on the ’22 car in January now, split some of our resources – you have got to start right away.
“But the big question is, when do you put the lion’s share of your resources on next year’s car because that means whatever you have got this year, that is what you’ve got to live with.
“That’s a fine balance and we won’t be able to really make that decision until we are a few races into the season and we really understand where we stand in the pecking order.”
As for team owner and Aston Martin executive chairman Lawrence Stroll, he is excited to bring the famous British carmaker back to the F1 grid as a standalone team for the first time since 1960.
“Formula 1 is an extremely powerful platform that will play a key role in Aston Martin’s strategy and the company’s evolutionary path.
“It is a truly global sport with a huge audience that we believe can help further shine the brand and further increase its desirability around the world.
“This is a brand that has already had tremendous success in top-tier international motorsports like the 24 Hours of Le Mans – and now we have the opportunity to write a new page in the history books.
“It is an extremely exciting prospect for anyone who is a lover of the Aston Martin brand, for fans of Formula 1 and the sport itself.”
