Aston Martin set to retain a hint of pink as BWT partnership renewed

Aston Martin look set to keep a hint of pink on their 2021 car after renewing their partnership with BWT.

The Silverstone-based outfit has carried an all-pink livery since first teaming up with the Austrian water company in 2017, who later became the title sponsor.

This season, however, it was thought the Aston Martin rebrand would mark the end of the ‘Pink Panthers’ in favour of a return of British Racing Green.

But that may not be completely the case…

“The look and feel of the new team will be very different, featuring an all-new base colour,” Aston confirmed.

“But today’s news ensures that subtle BWT brand accents, as well as BWT brand logos, will remain a feature of the all-new Aston Martin Cognizant Formula 1 team livery.”

The new car, the AMR21, is set to be unveiled on March 3 with Sebastian Vettel joining alongside Lance Stroll in 2021.

And with the German looking to revive his career somewhat after two tricky years at Ferrari, team boss Otmar Szafnauer is vowing the one thing he craves.

“Every driver who has competed with us wants a racing car with a sturdy rear end,” he told SpeedWeek.

“On the part of designers, we have always tried to put together a car with good stability in order to meet the driver’s request, and we will make sure that we do the same for Sebastian.

“Sebastian had a car at Ferrari that was tricky to drive and that didn’t suit his driving style,” he added. “It was similar in his last year for Red Bull Racing in 2014.

“But Vettel is a four-time Formula 1 World Champion. He certainly hasn’t forgotten how to drive a racing car.”
