Alex Marquez (EG 0,0 Marc VDS) took the top spot in Moto2 FP3 after shaving a second off yesterday's time. His team mate Franco Morbidelli finished in second, with Francesco Bagnaia (Sky Racing Team VR46) just behind in third.

There were a few more crashes in this session, most notably from Thomas Luthi (CarXpert Interwetten), Xavi Vierge (Tech 3 Racing) and Mattia Pasini (Italtrans Racing Team). All riders were okay, and managed to get back on track. Mid-way through the session, it was announced that Vierge would be moving to the Dynavolt Intact GP team for next season, meaning his future in Moto2 is safe once more, but Sandro Cortese and Marcel Schrotter's are not.

It was also announced that Miguel Oliveira and Brad Binder would remain with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team for next season.

Moto3 returned to the track for the first qualifying session of the day. Gabriel Rodrigo (RBA BOE Racing Team) took his first ever pole in a bit of a crash fest - one of which included a tangle between him and Jakub Kornfeil (Peugeot MC Saxoprint).

Nicolo Bulega (Sky Racing Team VR46) crashed out in the opening minutes of the session, but did manage to get back on track later on. But the stand out off was from Rodrigo himself. He and Kornfeil collided very early into the session, and Rodrigo was sent to the medical centre. Despite being out for most of the session, he came back and snatched pole from Romano Fenati (Marinelli Rivacold Snipers) over the checkered flag.

But what was truly stunning in this session, was the amount of riders hanging around on the pit exit waiting for a tow. Rules have recently been introduced to try and deter the riders from doing it, but they really don't seem to learn. With so many riders being hit with twelve place grid penalties since the rules were introduced, it shows that race direction are really serious about this. Just a shame that the riders themselves aren't...

But when all was said and done, Rodrigo took a phenomenal pole, from Fenati and Juanfran Guevara (RBA BOE Racing Team).

Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) topped FP3 in a session that followed the style of Moto3.

Very early in, Marquez, Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda) and Alvaro Bautista (Pull&Bear Aspar Team) went down, bringing out the red flag. It was confirmed that the red flags were out not because of track contamination but because of air fence damage even though it looked like Bautista's bike was leaking oil on the track after his crash. As soon as the session was back underway, Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) and Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) fell too.

It didn't phase any of them as apart from Bautista, they finished in the top eight. Everyone was fighting for their spot in Q2, but unfortunately Jonas Folger (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) and Andrea Iannone (Team Suzuki Ecstar) just missed the cut.
