Fresh off the back of his record breaking 2017 campaign in British F3, Hitech GP are excited to announce McLaren Autosport BRDC Young Driver finalist Enaam Ahmed as the newest driver to join their formidable young line-up.

Entering their 3rd year of the premier single-seater category, Hitech GP look to build upon their past successes with a strong partnership with one of Britain’s rising stars, in a bid for title honours. Enaam joins the race-winning team to contest the 2018 FIA Formula 3 Championship, in what is set to be another thrilling season.

The 17-year-old joins Hitech after a record breaking 2017 season in BRDC British F3 which saw him crowned the youngest ever Championship winner with the most points ever achieved (654) and by the largest winning margin – 164 points ahead of second place. His victory in the final race of the season took him to a huge 13 wins for the year, surpassing Ayrton Senna’s record number of race victories in a single season.

His success in British F3 followed on from an illustrious karting career which saw him claim both the CIK-FIA World and European KF Junior Karting titles at the age of 14, a year younger than Lewis Hamilton.

With the addition of Enaam to their driver line-up, Hitech GP is determined to challenge for victory in both driver and team championships.

Looking forward to 2018, Team Principal Oliver Oakes, spoke of how the team are eager to hit the ground running in their title campaign:

“We are thrilled to have Enaam onboard for 2018. He tested for us in Spa back in November and really impressed us with how quickly he got up to speed in the FIA F3 car. His season in British F3 has been very impressive”

Enaam added: “I’m super excited to join Hitech for my debut FIA F3 Season, I’ve known Oliver (Oakes) since I was 10 in Karting so we have a close working relationship already. I feel at home within the team and feel like we could have a strong package going into next year.”

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my sponsors and investors without whom I simply wouldn’t be able to race next season. They have shown incredible faith in me and I look forward to working with them closely to win many more Championships over the coming years.”
