Dennis Hauger will be driving full-time for PREMA Racing in the 2022 Formula 2 Championship.

The 18-year-old Norwegian, who became the 2021 FIA F3 champion under the PREMA banner, will make the next step of his competitive career by entering the leading F1 feeder category for his rookie campaign.

Hauger, a member of the Red Bull Junior Team, rose to prominence by winning the 2019 Italian Formula 4 Championship. His outstanding achievements led to an early move to the FIA Formula 3 Championship.

After learning the ropes of the new series with a podium finish in 2020, he joined PREMA Racing in 2021, when four wins and nine combined podium finishes eventually sealed the deal for him to take the driver title.

Hauger had an early taste of the Formula 2 car in the official postseason test session at Abu Dhabi, with three solid days of improving pace and chemistry. For 2022, he will be partnered by fellow Red Bull Junior driver Jehan Daruvala as the experienced Indian enters his third Formula 2 Season.

Rene Rosin – Team Principal: “We are delighted to continue the work we started with Dennis last year in F3, and that led to so many great results. Of course, being a rookie is not always straightforward.”

“However, in the official postseason test, Dennis made consistent and impressive progress, and we are looking forward to a positive season together. We are also proud to work with the Red Bull Junior Team again, and hopefully, we will be able to add more chapters to our successful history together.”

Dennis Hauger: “I’m delighted to continue with PREMA in 2022. We had a good year in 2021 with some amazing teamwork, and I really enjoyed it. I’m extremely happy that they keep believing in me, and I’m looking forward to carrying on the hard work we put in together this season as well.”
