Prema Racing’s Dino Beganovic will start the Formula Regional European Championship Race 1 at Spa Francorchamps from pole position after going fastest in both groups of the second qualifying.

The Swedish set the pace in the second session with the best time of 2m15.292s, after battling until the last lap with his teammates Paul Aron and Sebastian Montoya, who finished the official session second and third.

Gabriele Minì topped the Group B in 2m15.790s and secured the first row alongside championship leader Beganovic, just nine points away from the Italian. ART Grand Prix standard bearer in his group was ahead of Sami Meguetounif (MP Motorsport), who achieved his best qualifying performance in Belgium taking the second row.

Montoya and Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident Motorsport), both in contention for rookie title, will start this afternoon’s race from the third row.

Eduardo Barrichello (Arden Motorsport) scored the fourth time in the second session ahead Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing). Pietro Delli Guanti (RPM) and Lorenzo Fluxa (R-ace GP) rounded out the top 5 of the first one.
