FA Racing driver Esteban Masson topped the collective tests in the sixth round of the Formula Regional European Championship at Hungaroring.

The French Formula 4 champion was the fastest driver of the day thanks to the best time of 1m39.419s. The Canadian-born 17-year-old achieved this brilliant performance in the afternoon session ahead of another rookie, Sami Meguetounif (MP Motorsport) for just over a tenth.

Gabriele Minì (ART Grand Prix) was the fastest driver in the morning, while in the afternoon he finished third ahead Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Joshua Durksen, fifth again this morning.

Behind the driver for Arden Motorsport was Roman Bilinski (Trident Motorsport) and Eduardo Barrichello (Arden Motorsport) who finished the second session seventh.

Laurens Van Hoepen (ART Grand Prix) was next up in eight, 0.016s clear of Pietro Delli Guanti (RPM) with Prema Racing’s Paul Aron completing the top 10.

The first Formula Regional European Championship qualifying of the weekend is set for 09.00am tomorrow ahead of a 01.55pm start for the championship’s eleventh race.
