Pirelli has revealed the individual tyre selections with all teams going soft in their approach for the Australian Grand Prix.
This year sees a major change in how the different compounds will be identified with just three colours being used to designate soft, medium and hard.
However, five different types of slick rubber will be used across the season ranging from the hardest C1 to the softest C5.
For the street circuit around Albert Park, Pirelli has opted for the three middle tyres, C2, C3 and C4, and it’s no surprise to see teams have stocked up on the latter.
Just like recent years, each team has 13 sets for the weekend with no team choosing less than eight of what will be the red-striped C4.
The most aggressive outfit is Renault with both Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg having 10 sets available. The two drivers then alternate between one or two sets of the C2 and C3.
Between the expected top three teams there is little to choose as Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull all opted for nine sets of C4, while Charles Leclerc is the only driver to go with two sets of C2.
