Fernando Alonso is hoping to limit his 2020 schedule to just one racing series.
In his first year after retiring from Formula 1, the Spaniard has had two main commitments, his ongoing WEC super-season with Toyota and his second Indianapolis 500 bid with McLaren.
That follows his success at the ILMS Daytona 24 Hours back in January and a return to the F1 cockpit this past week at a test in Bahrain.
“At the moment I am focusing on Spa [6 Hours], Indianapolis and Le Mans,” he was quoted by GPFans, “Until July I will not consider anything about the future.
While unsure what series he will attempt, something that may be decided by his result at Indy, the double F1 champion explained why he wants to limit the number he attempts.
“The idea is not to change around so many times, because you lose the perfection you need to succeed in a great speciality,” he said.

Interestingly, despite his claim, Fernando has been touting even more one-off appearances with the Dakar Rally seemingly in his sights after a test two weeks ago.
Naturally, there also remains the question of F1 and whether McLaren’s apparent improvement, with Lando Norris finishing sixth in Bahrain, was offering any interest.
“It’s better to be in Q3 and to score points, but I do not feel like racing in F1 this year,” Alonso replied.
Although… “Well, if Carlos [Sainz] wins two or three races before Abu Dhabi, maybe yes,” he added.
