Vice-chairman Piero Ferrari is promising a “completely redesigned” car when Ferrari launch their 2020 car later on Tuesday.
The Scuderia’s latest creation, understood to be named the SF1000, has faced a lot of speculation during the final few weeks of development before its big unveiling.
Initially, it was suggested efforts to solve the lack of downforce last year’s car suffered from had resulted in a critical flaw in its design, but in recent days, the murmurs from Maranello have been more positive.
And the pressure is on at Ferrari perhaps more than ever in 2020, with Charles Leclerc bursting onto the scene last year alongside Sebastian Vettel and after the 2010s proved to be the first championship-less decade in their history.
“This year the car has been completely redesigned,” Ferrari was quoted by F1i.com as telling Italian media.
“We hope we have done everything possible to eliminate the problems of last year. I think a good job has been done, we have good hopes.”

A few details about the new car have also been speculated, including a matte paint finish in a darker red than last year, a tribute to Gilles Villeneuve with bigger numbers and the Italian Tricolore is also expected to feature.
