Red Bull team boss Christian Horner doesn’t expect Max Verstappen to alter his approach despite two days of FIA public service.
The governing body used the punishment, given for pushing Esteban Ocon post-race in Brazil last year, to offer the Dutchman a look at how the stewards operate.
First, he joined the race officials at the Marrakesh ePrix last month, then on Sunday, he visited the FIA International Stewards Programme in Switzerland, taking part in various case studies at how decisions are made.
“It’s a great opportunity for him to see what happens on the other side of the fence,” Horner told Motorsport-Total.com.
Verstappen too described both days as constructive and insightful, however, the Red Bull boss sees no reason why it would change the 21-year-old’s notoriously aggressive nature on track.
“That is what distinguishes him and makes him the exciting driver he is,” Horner noted. “If you talked him out of that, he would not be the Max Verstappen that makes the same headlines and creates the same interest.”
