McLaren team boss Andreas Seidl will become Sauber CEO next month as Formula 1's management merry-go-round continues.
The German returns for a second stint at the Swiss team, taking over one of the duties previously held by Fred Vasseur, who was confirmed as Ferrari's new team principal earlier on Tuesday.
Seidl's first task will be to appoint a new team principal at Alfa Romeo before focusing on Sauber's gradual transition to becoming Audi's works team in F1 in 2026.
“It is great to join the Sauber Group from January,” Seidl, who has been McLaren boss since 2019, commented.

In response, McLaren promoted Executive Director of Racing Andrea Stella to take over as Team Principal with immediate effect.
“I feel privileged to take on the Team Principal role as the next stage of being part of the McLaren F1 Team," the former Ferrari performance engineer said.
"I am grateful to Zak [Brown, McLaren CEO] and the shareholders for their trust in me and to all my colleagues and those who have supported me throughout my F1 career.
“We are realistic about the amount of work ahead of us to move back up the grid, but I am excited and encouraged that I am on this journey together with a team full of talent, experience, racing spirit and dedication.
"I look forward to working closely with each of them, Lando [Norris] and Oscar [Piastri], to together achieving great success and enjoying the journey.”
