Romain Grosjean insists there's nothing to worry about after the collapse of his front wing on the right-hand side during Friday practice.

The failure came as the Frenchman ran over the bumps on the approach to Turn 1 but happily the section simply dragged on the track at certain sections rather than coming off completely.

Unable to see the issue though, Grosjean continued and only when he locked up at the hairpin at the end of the lap did he feel any difference.

As the Haas driver noted, instances of aero pieces coming loose or falling off are not new.

“It started with my first day in the car [at a] filming day in Barcelona in 2016," he smiled.

“We try things and obviously try to make the car as light as you can and sometimes you overdo it,” Grosjean continued.

“Maybe that’s not even the case, I’m not a designer, I haven’t got into it.

“I’m more focused on getting the performance out of the car than thinking why the front wing went.

“I’m not worried, the guys always solve the issue. The build of the car is really impressive so I think it’s going to be good.”

Indeed, Haas has confirmed that the point where the element plane joined the central section will be strengthened ahead of qualifying.

There might be a few more frowns about the pace though, as Kevin Magnussen ended the day in 16th place at the back of the midfield pack and just one place ahead of Grosjean.
