Gabriele Minì was in the right place at the right time at Imola where he claimed his first pole position in the Formula Regional European Championship.

The Italian set the pace for the most time of the first session. The ART Grand Prix driver secured the pole position of the Group A courtesy of 1:39.526s, in front of Prema Racing duo Dino Beganovic and Paul Aron, second and third respectively. A late spin of Victor Bernier (FA Racing) caused the red flag with only few seconds to go.

Mari Boya topped the Group B in 1:39.755s and secured the first row alongside his teammate Minì. The Spaniard finished in front of the best rookie Sebastian Montoya (Prema Racing), who achieved the supremacy of the class in the Monza opener.

Aron and Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing) will start this afternoon’s race from the third row.

Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP) scored the fourth time in the first session ahead Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident). Joshua Durksen (Arden Motorsport) and Tim Tramnitz (Trident) rounded out the top 5 of the second session.
