Romain Grosjean has been discharged from hospital following his horrific crash at the Bahrain Grand Prix this past Sunday.
The Haas driver miraculously escaped with only minor burns on his hands and a sprained ankle following a high-speed impact with the barriers, which caused his car to burst into flames after breaking in half.
Since then, Grosjean has been posting updates via social media and yesterday, spoke to the media for the first time, admitting he felt reborn to have emerged from an accident which just a few years ago might have had a very different outcome.

Initially, it was hoped Romain could leave the Bahrain Defence Forces Hospital on Tuesday, but that was delayed slightly to Wednesday morning.
And in a statement, Haas explained the next steps.
“Grosjean will continue private treatment for the burns suffered on the back of his hands and will remain in Bahrain for the time being,” the team said.
“On behalf of Romain Grosjean and the entire Haas F1 Team we extend our thanks to all who have tended to him at the BDF Hospital.”
Later Grosjean posted a video of the moments after the crash via Instagram, adding: “This video is incredible.
“Look at the professionalism of the fireman, trying to keep the fire away from me in the car. Look at the action on Ian Roberts and his involvement. I told him he was a hero, he went into the fire as much as he could to save me.
“Finally, this is also the moment I realized I was going to live. Extracting my body from the chassis.
“Yes I burned myself and yes it was painful, but that’s nothing compared to the relief I felt as soon as I could get up.
“I felt Ian’s hands pulling me over the barrier and knew I was safe. I remember every second of it and life will never be the same again, but I’m sure for the best.
“I met with death and that is the worst feeling I ever had. But I’m alive and will enjoy every second of life and every small win in a much better way from now on.
“Thank you.”
This weekend, reserve driver Pietro Fittipaldi will stand in for the Frenchman, but Grosjean is hoping to be fit enough to compete in what will be his swansong race in F1 next weekend in Abu Dhabi.
