    Gunther ends FP1 fastest in Berlin

    Maximilian Gunther has ended the first practice session fastest at the extended Berlin Layout ahead of the tenth round of the Formula E Championship. 

    The BMW driver set a 1.16.251 on a full power qualifying lap to end the session fastest. Oliver Rowland continued Nissan strong form by finishing in second just 0.009 behind the Gunther. 

    Rene Rast set a good time for Audi as the two-time DTM champion finished the session in third place setting a 1.16.315. Robin Frijns was fourth fastest for the Envision Virgin Racing team. 

    Formula E Champion Antonio Felix Da Costa ended the practice session in fifth place with a 1.16.341. Lucas Di Grassi was sixth fastest in the second Audi. 

    Sam Bird who starts his final two races with the Virgin Racing team was seventh quickest with Sebastien Buemi in eighth in the second Nissan. 

    Mitch Evans finished in ninth for Jaguar racing with Edorado Mortara rounding out the top ten. Jaguar’s new recruit for the weekend Tom Blomqvist finished in 16th place.

    Blomqvist is replacing the out-going James Calado who has chosen to participate in Thursday’s World Endurance Championship’s practice session.
