MotoE: Tuuli reigns Day 1 at the Red Bull Ring
After setting the pace in FP1 at the Austrian Grand Prix, FIM Enel MotoE World Cup standings leader Niki Tuuli went over half a second quicker in the afternoon to sit 0.620 clear of second fastest Mattia Casadei, with Bradley Smith just 0.001 further back in P3.
Miquel Pons will start from pole position for the opening two races of the 2022 MotoE World Cup after his single completed lap in Q2 at the Jerez Circuit was the best of all, edging out Hector Garzo by just 0.063.
Alessandro Zaccone was the man to beat on Day 1 of the MotoE World Cup's first visit to the TT Circuit Assen, the points leader making it a clean sweep as he topped FP1 and FP2 to end the day two tenths clear of Eric Granado on the combined timesheets.
Rookie Miquel Pons produced a fantastic MotoE World Cup performance at the Catalunya Grand Prix to win his first race in the Cup by an impressive 0.531 after fighting at the front from the off.
