Lewis Hamilton seems more than happy at Mercedes after claiming he wants to continue contributing to the team's success.

Talks are set to begin between the Briton and team boss Toto Wolff over what would be his fourth contract at the German manufacturer since joining from McLaren in 2013.

And speaking to Sky Sports, the Austrian certainly remains keen on keeping his star asset.

“The dynamic is very good, we have known each other for such a long time and have the greatest respect for each other,” Wolff said at the launch of the W11 at Silverstone on Friday.

“A racing driver knows his value and we do, and on the other side Lewis is very aware about where we are as a team and as a motor company.

“So overall these discussions we don’t like them because we are friends and very close to each other on this current journey, but it’s part of the job.”

Initially, there was growing excitement at the possibility of Hamilton making a blockbuster move to Ferrari for 2021, but now the 35-year-old has also given his biggest hint yet that he's staying put.

“He [Wolff] is an incredible businessman so I learn a lot from this man,” said the six-time F1 champion.

“I think it’s a real privilege firstly to be wanted and to stay and be part of a great team, that’s a great feeling.

“So I hope I can continue to contribute to the team’s success.”

Around Hamilton, there are still several seats at the top three teams potentially up for grabs with Sebastian Vettel, Valtteri Bottas and Alex Albon all out of contract.

But the Briton believes there will be little change.

“In the top teams there isn’t going to be a lot of movement, most likely," he continued.

“In the ones cascading down I’m not too sure what everyone’s contracts are – but I don’t think there’s going to be a huge amount of movement.

“I think just get used to what’s similar at the moment. I don’t know what Seb’s plan is for the future.”
