Max Verstappen has put to bed a claim he is in regular contact with Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff.
It was Red Bull's own advisor Helmut Marko who made the comment after revealing the Dutchman does have a performance clause in his contract which could see him leave the team after 2020.
Max's father Jos later responded denying the claim, and now the 21-year-old himself has made his position clear.
"I was surprised when I read that because first of all I never speak to Toto," he said on Thursday. "He never calls me. He doesn't even have my number. So I found it funny."
As for any contact between Wolff and his father, Verstappen added: "They do talk sometimes but it's mainly about babies and go-karting."

It is unlikely the denials will completely end the speculation of a future move to Mercedes, given how the two have talked about the possibility before in 2017.
There is also the prospect of a seat being available next year with Valtteri Bottas on a single year deal.
Verstappen though, refused to comment on any clauses in his own contract, saying: "I cannot talk about my contract, I never talk about my contract. I think it’s quite normal."
