FIA race director Michael Masi has confirmed he talked with Formula 1 drivers before the farcical events of Q3 at the Italian GP.
With the slipstream crucial to a good qualifying lap at Monza, all kinds of games were played in an effort to gain the necessary track position.
That led to drivers driving ridiculously slowly on the final out-lap in the top-10 shootout, with seven of the nine drivers failing to reach the start/finish line before time expired.
Three drivers received reprimands as a result but with the tactics more specific to tracks like Spa and Monza, it does at least now give the FIA time to consider a solution.
“100 per cent," Masi said on whether he thought something would be done.
"That was something that already happened at a drivers’ meeting on Friday night, something we discussed after Spa and everyone in the room acknowledged there was not a single regulatory fix for it.
“So we will have a more in-depth discussion in Singapore and a few of the teams have come up with ideas on how that could be rectified.”

When it was put to the FIA race director though that drivers had ignored warnings about driving slowly on out-laps, he admitted what they do and say off-track usually different on it.
“They are all elite sportsmen trying to get the most out of it," he said. “Once the visor comes down they are all out there to do their best. It is something we need to look at in more detail.”
Mercedes boss Toto Wolff does think there is a relatively simple answer to it all, however.
“I think defining some kind of minimum lap time or minimum lap time delta is something that needs to be achieved and I think it is achievable as nobody wants to see what happened at Monza,” he stated.
