FIA race director Michael Masi isn't implementing immediate kerb changes for the Singapore Grand Prix, following Alex Peroni's crash at Monza

The Formula 3 driver took off and landing in the catch fencing after striking a sausage kerb on the exit of Parabolica, leading to its removal for the rest of the weekend.

While the street circuit at Marina Bay does have some similar kerbs installed in key areas, Masi insists there's no need to respond with panic.

“No, the current approach is as it is. We will have a look at how that incident occurred [at Monza] and reasons and inputs why and go from there,” he explained.

“I was in Singapore prior to Belgium and it looks to be coming along quite well, but I think we will look at each case on its merits and see what the simulations come back with and go from there.

“I would not preempt anything like that. Let’s remember that all of these circuits have an FIA grade A licence with all the inherent safety installations including kerbs and they are all inspected in accordance with our vigours regime, so it would be naive to say there would be a knee-jerk to anything like that."

As it is, F1 is the only single-seater series in town this weekend, as F2 and F3 take an extra week off before returning in Sochi.
