Beganovic dominates at Monza to secure first pole of the year

Prema Racing’s Dino Beganovic stormed to a thrilling pole in Formula Regional European Championship qualifying at Monza this morning, after dominating the Group A session.

The Swedish driver, was unbeatable being almost three tenths of a second clear of Lorenzo Fluxa (R-ace GP) who took the front row due to the lead of the Group B.

Best qualifying ever for the Spanish driver in the series, who will start from the front row ahead of Michael Belov (MP Motorsport) third in the grid after struggling with Beganovic for the pole position in the first group.

The Italian Gabriele Minì (ART Grand Prix) was 0.159s behind Fluxa and finished ahead of Kas Haverkort (Van Amersfoort Racing). The Dutchman will share the third row with 2021 runner up Hadrien David, bearer of the R-ace GP (fifth).

Gabriel Bortoleto (R-ace GP) was seventh in the combined grid ahead of ART Grand Prix’s Mari Boya, while Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident Motorsport) and Maceo Capietto (Monolite Racing) completed the top-10.

“It’s the best start of the season that I could wish. We already did the pole here last year and I felt good this morning too. Now a wet race awaits us. We will give our best. A special thanks to the team for giving me a perfect car.”
