BMW’s Maximilian Gunther took victory in the rFactor test race around Monaco after holding off Stoffel Vandoorne throughout the whole race.

Gunther and Vandoorne were the class of the field as they pulled over a ten-second gap over the Andre Lotterer who finished in third.

The race was littered with crashes throughout the event, especially at Turn 1 were Lotterer, and Jean-Eric Vergne came together. Felipe Massa spun his Venturi at Turn 2, and Antonio Felix Da Costa was pushed into the wall at the Turn 3 hairpin.

The race did settle down in the closing stages of the 15 lap race, and there were some clean overtakes as Nick Cassidy who finished the race in fourth managed to pass the reigning Formula E Champion Jean-Eric Vergne.

Vergne looked set to finish in fifth place, but he made an error at Turn 1 which allowed Nico Muller and Oliver Rowland through. The Geox Dragon driver and Nissan e.Dams driver did battle for a couple of laps, but Rowland was unable to find a way through, as Muller finished in fifth and Rowland in sixth, while Vergne slipped back to ninth.

Mitch Evans came home in seventh for Jaguar Racing, while Jann Mardenbourgh who was racing instead of Sebastien Buemi in the Nissan e.dams car came home ninth, while Oliver Turvey was the last driver not to be eliminated and came home in tenth place.
