Lando Norris has dismissed suggestions he is eyeing up a future move to Mercedes.

With his current team McLaren continuing to struggle, the young Brit could be a target for the likes of Red Bull, Ferrari and Mercedes when his contract ends in 2025.

A move to the latter is often touted for Norris, following in Lewis Hamilton’s footsteps after he left McLaren for Mercedes back in 2013.

But asked if media chatter that he is considering such a move was true, Lando’s response was pretty blunt.

“Am I? Interesting,” he told Channel 4. “No, I’m here [at McLaren], I’m happy where I am.”

But Norris also made it clear he wants to join Max Verstappen, George Russell and Charles Leclerc and get his opportunity to fight for wins and championships in F1.

“I wish I was there with them. Of course, I wish I was in that battle,” he said.

“I feel like I deserve to be in that battle. I feel like I can be, and I think it will be a great battle.

“But it’s just not the position that I’m in at the minute… I can race against them in the future, and I can do the same as what they’re doing.”
