Charles Leclerc is confident he and teammate Sebastian Vettel will follow any necessary orders at the start of the Mexican Grand Prix.
With Ferrari again expected to be the fastest cars in qualifying, there is a strong possibility of a repeat from Sochi, where the driver behind could slipstream into the lead on the long run to Turn 1.
It was an effort by the Scuderia to co-ordinate that which led to the controversy over whether Vettel ignored the pre-arranged plan by not letting his teammate through after being instructed by the team
But should the same situation arise again, Leclerc believes Ferrari will be on the same page.
“First of all I think we need to do a good position in qualifying, both of us, and then we will see how it goes,” he told Crash.net on Thursday. “But we haven’t discussed it yet.

“We’ll be doing what the team asks, so of course if they ask us to do so it will be done.
“It’s a long way to Turn 1 and so it was a very long way also in Sochi! I don’t know if pole is the best way to start but we’ll definitely give it all for pole position and then we’ll see.”
That incident in Russia was just the latest example of how Ferrari is adjusting to having two drivers on the same level but as for whether Leclerc now has equal status, the 22-year-old isn’t sure.
“I think Mattia [Binotto] probably is the better person to ask as to whether it has changed or not,” he replied.
“But on my side, I’m happy with my own performances. The main goal was to improve this season, I took this challenge as a huge opportunity to be next to Seb and to learn from him and I think I achieved most of my targets.
“I’m happy with the way I’ve grown this year, there’s still a lot to learn for sure but I’m happy with this first season.”
