Campos Racing announced that Marino Sato will make his Formula 2 debut this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps where he will join the team for the remainder of 2019

The 20-yeard-old driver will pair with Anglo-Korean Jack Aitken for the final four rounds, which will be held in Belgium, Italy, Russia and the United Arab Emirates.

Sato started his racing career in the 2015 Italian F4 Championship in which he spent two years before moving up the single-seater ladder. The Japanese driver contested the FIA Formula 3 European Championship before making his debut earlier this year in the Euroformula Open.

Sato has secured eight wins and ten podiums and currently commands the Drivers’ standings with just three rounds remaining.

Marino Sato (Driver of Campos Racing): “I want to thank to everyone involved for make this happen and to Adrián for the warm welcome. It’s going to be the biggest challenge in my life so far, but I’m really excited and looking forward to it”.

Adrián Campos (President of Campos Racing): “We are excited to welcome Marino on board. Sato already carried out preseason testing with us and we think that he is a promising talent with a bright future. We will work hard together to achieve success in the remaining races of the season and set the stage for the future.”
