Red Bull will officially reveal the new RB16 during a shakedown at Silverstone on February 12, advisor Helmut Marko says.

The Milton Keynes-based outfit is the last to announce their launch plans, which will see Ferrari begin with a ceremony in Italy the day before on February 11.

Last week Williams confirmed they would digitally unveil their new car on February 17, while Alfa Romeo and Haas have opted for the comfort of the Barcelona pit-lane on the first morning of pre-season testing on February 19.

As for Red Bull, expectations are high heading into 2020 that the team can take the fight to Mercedes with a chassis and now an engine that is a match for the German manufacturer.

Add to that the confidence placed in the team by Max Verstappen, who signed a new three-year deal until 2023 last month.

And though not confirmed by Marko, it is likely the Dutchman will be the first to get his hands on Adrian Newey’s latest creation before teammate Alex Albon.

“After bench testing of the new car is completed, we will run it in at Silverstone on February 12,” the Austrian told Motorsport-Magazin.

“We are ahead of schedule and so far everything has been going well. It’s great that we are ahead of schedule – I hope we will avoid the unsuccessful start of the season that we had in previous years.”

In recent years, Red Bull have run special one-off liveries for the Silverstone launch, though there’s no word yet on if the team will do so again this year.
