    Mercedes launch striking W12 car

Mercedes has revealed the car they hope will win them an eighth consecutive Formula 1 championship in 2021, the W12.

The Brackley-based team certainly start the year as favourites to retain their crown after a dominant 2020 saw them win 13 of 17 races, 11 of which came via Lewis Hamilton.

And with the regulations remaining fairly stable, rivals will certainly have to make a big step to catch them, with Red Bull seen as their only real competition.

Despite an extended wait to secure his signature, Mercedes will once again have Hamilton leading their charge as he goes in pursuit of a record eighth Drivers’ title.

Alongside, Valtteri Bottas also stays on for a fifth year at the team although both are out of contract at the end of 2021.

As for the car itself, the black livery remains as Mercedes continue to show their commitment in the fight for equality, although the traditional silver does make a small comeback towards the rear.

Also on the engine cover, the stars of recent years have been replaced by multiple AMG logos as part of the greater branding for the high-performance arm of Mercedes that will be seen in 2021.
