No Formula E until Late May

Formula E is set to suspend racing for the next two months due to the global health threat of the coronavirus crisis.

The series has yet to make the full announcement, but it is expected to come after this weekend’s Formula 1 opener in Melbourne, Australia, it is understood that the World Health Organisation’s declaration of a pandemic, due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus, has been the trigger for the move.

The official announcement means that events in Seoul in South Korea and Paris in France will join those already postponed. Race weekends in Berlin, New York and London remain on the schedule.

The Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia looked set to host a race on the 4th and 5th of April, but a spike in coronavirus in Spain meant that proposal had to be stopped.

It is now likely that the Berlin round on the 21st June will be the next Formula E event unless Formula E finds an alternative venue to host a race in May.
