Racing Point is reportedly set for a change in livery for 2019, meaning an end to their time as Formula 1’s ‘pink panthers’.

The Silverstone-based outfit, formerly known as Force India, carried the striking paint scheme as part of their sponsorship deal with water company BWT.

However, African sports betting company SportPesa has taken has now taken over that position with their investment, according to Sport Business and quoted by GPFans.

“The $15m figure is important because this is the fee BWT is thought to have paid Force India [Racing Point] for its main partnership position,” their article said.

“Sport Business cannot confirm that SportPesa has acquired team title rights as part of the deal, but can reveal that the team will change its racing colours to pink and blue this season,” it concluded.

Also remaining on the car will be Sergio Perez’s sponsors from Mexico.

“With the support and stability brought by [new owner] Lawrence Stroll, I think we will see an even more competitive Racing Point,” billionaire Carlos Slim Domit recently told Spain’s Marca.

Racing Point’s new permanent name along with their 2019 car will be revealed at the Toronto Motor Show on February 13.
