Nyck De Vries has ended the second practice session in Berlin quickest for the Mercedes Formula E team.

The Dutch driver set a 1.06.846 in the closing stages of the session, while everyone was doing a qualifying simulation.

Championship leader Antonio Felix Da Costa finished the half an hour session in second setting a 1.06.922, which will fill the Portuguese driver with confidence ahead of qualifying later today.

Maximilian Gunther was the first driver to set a 250kW lap, and the German set the third fastest time with a 1.07.005. Jerome D’Ambrosio showed that Mahindra may have some good pace at a place where they usually run well at. The Belgian driver finished the session in fourth setting a 1.07.160

Sebastien Buemi was fifth in the Nissan, and Mitch Evans, Da Costa’s main rival for the championship ended practice in sixth place in the Jaguar.

Sam Bird who will be joining jaguar in season seven alongside Evans finished in seventh place just in front of Lucas Di Grassi in eighth.

Rene Rast finished just behind his teammate in ninth, which will fill the 33-year old with confidence ahead of qualifying being so close to Di Grassi. The German driver was two-tenths of Di Grassi’s lap time of a 1.07.441.

Nico Muller in the dRagon rounded out the top ten.

Elsewhere, defending champion Jean-Eric Vergne was only 11th fastest, and Alex Lynn was 14th fastest for Mahindra. Sergio Sette Camara seems to be struggling in the second Dragon racing car as he finished in 23rd.

James Calado didn’t take part in the session after a software failure on his car ruled him out of the session. The Englishmen has not set a lap time in his Jaguar in practice this morning after suffering the problem in Practice one.
