On a slightly wet track, with rain tires, battle for pole position ends in the very last moments of both sessions: Fittipaldi takes pole off Vesti, while Schumacher conquers his first two “real” pole positions

Under a dark grey sky with rain falling in a spotty way on the circuit, track is wet and drivers start session one with rain tires.

Lap after lap times improve and challenge increases to the very last moments, with Enzo Fittipaldi (Prema Powerteam – 1:56.103) who takes away pole from his teammate Frederik Vesti (1:56.222) and an excellent David Schumacher (US Racing – 1:56.250), who had been leading the session for long.

n session 2, still with rain starting and stopping, David Schumacher finally manages to obtain his first “real” pole position with a fantastic 1.56:974, only driver able to go below 1:57.00. The German driver had in fact started in pole in Vallelunga, but this due to a penalization to Isac Blomqvist.

After Schumacher we find Enzo Fittipaldi (1:57.240), in great shape on the Spanish track, even under the rain, and Frederik Vesti (1:57.295) who is, compared to usual standard, “only” third.

Schumacher obtains also pole position for race 3 with best second time, (1.57:251), followed by Fittipaldi (1.57:516) and Vesti (1.57:911).

Qualifying sessions end just in time before pouring rain hits the track.

Today race 1 and 2 will go live (starting respectively at 12:35 and 18:55) on Motorsport.tv (in English and Italian), on AutomotoTV (in Italian) and streaming on the Facebook page of the championship (in English and Italian).
